MTA
What's an MTA?
These are known as Major Trading Areas (MTAs). They are based on the Rand McNally 1992 Commercial Atlas & Marketing Guide and used by FCC in defining the PCS licensing areas when various parts of the country were auctioned off.
Why does Tower Maps use MTA's?
This provides for more uniform coverage per area and simplifies the data pricing scheme.
